TUDOR AFTERNOON

Mary Newman’s Cottage will be celebrating all things Tudor on Saturday 2nd July from 12.00 noon until 4.00pm.

Ilow Splann [a musical duo who play beautiful music on violin, recorder, bouzouki, cornamuse, bombard and bodhran as well as singing] will perform music from Early to Tudor times. Their music will be in 20-minute sets, the first starting at 12.20 pm.

Come and be entertained, learn about how the Tudors used herbs, or dress up in Elizabethan clothes.

The café will be open throughout the afternoon for light refreshments.
Free admission, although donations to enable the Tamar Protection Society to continue to maintain this unique property, will be greatly appreciated.
The aims of the Society are:
  • To improve, protect and preserve for the benefit of the public the countryside and the county towns and villages of the Tamar and its surrounding area.
  • To educate the public in the local history of the area by provision of a museum.
Today the Society continues to keep a watching brief on any proposed developments along the lower reaches of the River Tamar as well as managing two differing heritage properties.
