A time capsule of days before the giant supermarket boom. The store and its contents have been preserved and presented just as they were in Mr Elliotts time. A visit to this living museum with its archives will recall to mind the aromas and sights of an age when the pace of life was much, much slower and service was personal.

The shop area is fully accessible to wheelchair users and those with poor mobility. The downstairs parlour is accessible for those visitors who can negotiate a small step. The exhibition rooms are upstairs and therefore only accessible to those who can negotiate flights of stairs. The volunteers can make arrangements for a short DVD of the upstairs rooms to be shown in the shop, to give a flavour of the exhibition rooms, providing advance notice is given.
There is no disabled parking in the street outside Elliott's.
